Russian-German 1992 Joint Space Flight Stamps 2/3-Sheet


From NASA Apollo-Soyuz Russian Language instructor-interpreter Anatole Forostenko’s personal collection.

A 7.7″x7.6″ two-thirds sheet (missing the bottom two rows) of 24 unused Russian stamps with border, honoring the 1992 Russian-German Joint Space Flight MIR-92, depicting two cosmonauts aboard the MIR space station and combining the colors of both countries’ flags.

Dr. Forostenko led a Russian language team at NASA’s Astronaut Office to prepare astronauts to communicate with cosmonauts during Apollo-Soyuz, working closely with both crews as instructor-interpreter.
