Cosmonaut-artist Alexei Leonov depicts the Malaysian cyclone he saw from his Soyuz spacecraft on the eve of the 1975 Apollo-Soyuz rendezvous. This vast weather disturbance that extended over a quarter of the globe, exhibited the rare phenomena of clouds that punctured the higher ionosphere.
