I Heart Pluto

$99.00$274.00

Lowell Observatory offered an exclusive invitation for IAAA artists, featuring Pluto-themed artwork at the “I Heart Pluto” Art Show. The grand opening celebrated the 90th anniversary of Pluto’s discovery. Clyde Tombaugh discovered the ninth planet 90 years ago on February 18, 1930 at Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, Arizona. This artwork was created in Las Vegas, inspiring the artist to depict a lipstick smooch as a sign of love for the planet.

Limited edition of only 20. Signed by artist and numbered.

Alden Tombaugh, son of Cyde Tombaugh, Michelle Rouch, Artist, and Dr. Alan Stern, New Horizons Principal Investigator give the “Pluto Salute” by holding up nine fingers to show support for Pluto as a planet, rather than its controversial demotion to dwarf planet status.

The artist is passionate about her ‘I Heart Pluto’ creation at the Grand Opening Reception at Lowell Observatory, Flagstaff, Arizona.
