Eileen Collins poses in her orange spacesuit (OSS) for her official NASA “mission commander” photo in 1999. Being the first woman to pilot the Space Shuttle and the first woman to command a Space Shuttle mission, her four-mission career culminated in STS-114, the first “Return to Flight” mission flown after the tragic loss of Space Shuttle Columbia during reentry.
