SIGNED BY TOM STAFFORD, VANCE BRAND, AND DEKE SLAYTON, WITH RARE POSTMARK!
From NASA Apollo-Soyuz Russian Language instructor-interpreter Anatole Forostenko’s personal collection.
8”x10” NASA litho JSCL-118 of the American Apollo crew for 1975’s joint American/Soviet Apollo-Soyuz mission, with American 10-cent Skylab and Soviet 6-kopek 15 Years of Space Anniversary stamps with Cosmodrome Baikonur postmark, dated 04287519 (April 28, 1975). Baikonur postmarks from this period are relatively rare, because prior to this visit by the American astronaut team, including Forostenko, no foreign visitors (except Charles de Gaulle) had been allowed inside Cosmodrome Baikonur, due to its highly-secretive nature. Sharp signatures in black.
Dr. Forostenko led a Russian language team at NASA’s Astronaut Office to prepare astronauts to communicate with cosmonauts during Apollo-Soyuz, working closely with both crews as instructor-interpreter.
COA included.
Framed option has black suede matte with 4″ embroidered mission patch.
