Apollo 17

Apollo 17 mission commander Gene Cernan proudly straightens the “Stars and Stripes” planted at the landing site. To date, this is the last flag of any type planted on the Moon by a human crew. This final mission of the Apollo program performed the most ambitious exploration of the lunar surface, returning a record amount of geological samples to Earth.
