The ash in this 1.7″ diameter plastic display capsule was violently ejected during the most disastrous volcanic activity in US history. On May 18, 1980, after weeks of small tremors, Mount St. Helens erupted in the state of Washington, becoming one of the largest eruptions in the 20th century. The highly explosive eruption produced this bright ash. Includes 2.75″x4.75″ detailed info card.
