Original Transcripts Of Proceedings, Set of 3

From space artist James Dean’s personal collection.

Recorded interviews done by James Dean, he then transcribed them into these hand bound booklets. All 3 have hand written notes by James on them.

Transcript #1: Two interviews, one with John Lewis, founder & musical director of MJQ, the Modern Jazz Quartet, established in 1952. The other interview is with Edward Villella, considered to be the most celebrated male ballet dancer. He was in the ballet “Apollo,” choreographed and trained under George Ballachine.

Transcript #2: An interview with author and political commentator William F. Buckley Jr.

Transcript #3: Two interviews, one with NASA commissioned artist and war artist for the US Navy in WWII, Mitchell Jamieson. The other interview is with NASA artist and NASA art advisor Hereward L. Cooke.

All in very good condition!

James Dean was the NASA director of films, publications, and television, and then the Director of the Fine Arts Program at NASA from 1961 to 1974. He then became the Curator of Art at the National Air and Space Museum.
