Alexei Leonov – Apollo-Soyuz Docking Art Photo 8×10



From NASA Apollo-Soyuz Russian Language instructor-interpreter Anatole Forostenko’s personal collection.

NASA red serial number S-75-25077 8”x10” photo of Alexei Leonov’s 1974 painting of a Soyuz spacecraft docking with an Apollo spacecraft during 1975’s joint American-Soviet Apollo-Soyuz Test Project (ASTP), symbolizing the new era of international cooperation in space. Leonov commanded the Soviet Soyuz crew.

Dr. Forostenko led a Russian language team at NASA’s Astronaut Office to prepare astronauts to communicate with cosmonauts during Apollo-Soyuz, working closely with both crews as instructor-interpreter.

NOTE: Vertical orientation is correct, although red serial number is printed in horizontal format. Small, slight dent in left (vertical) margin, and a smaller one near the cyclone. Printing on back is more legible than shown in our image.
