Apollo 15 mission commander Dave Scott was the only astronaut to perform a Stand-Up EVA (SEVA) from the docking hatch of the lunar module. This initial survey of the surrounding geology after landing at Hadley Base checked the area for boulders or other hazards, which might hinder this first mission of a lunar rover.
