Apollo 11 Cookie Jar

Do you know the real secret to a successful Moon landing? COOKIES! And to protect those sweet delectables from the harsh environment of a trans-lunar flight, and keep them fresh for your next walk on the Moon, what’s better than your own Apollo 11 Columbia cookie jar with resealable lid?

This food-safe, easy to clean, ceramic cookie jar is shaped like the famous Apollo command module that carried the astronauts to the Moon, and returned them safely to the Earth. The removable lid with resealable rubber gasket makes for easy cookie ingress and egress.

Truth be told, there may have been a little more than just baked-goods behind the first manned lunar landing in July 1969, but we suspect that a good cookie might also have played a supporting role. So, let’s all raise a glass of milk and a good cookie to the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11!

Approximately 9 inches diameter, and 8 inches tall. Weight 3 pounds. Dolomite (ceramic). Hand wash only with gentle dish soap, air dry. NOT dishwasher safe. Cookies not included.

I thought this would just be a cute space cookie jar (YAY Novaspace! I support you!), but no, it elevated the taste of oreos to another level. We used to just keep the oreos in the package and pull the plastic tab to open and close the pack. When we put the oreos in the cookie jar, (for even just 15 minutes) the flavor was amazing. We will never just eat cookies out of the package-they taste stale in comparison to the cookies in the Apollo jar….IDK if it is the air tight environment, the shape of the module, or what it is that makes the cookies taste so fresh and flavorful. Even my husband (not a space kind of guy) agreed. We don’t know exactly how the cookie jar enhances the taste of the cookies, but you should try it.
