This was a preliminary version of our framed presentation of the mission patches of Project Mercury. The 3″ mission patches and 8″ Mercury program patch are current-issue from A-B Emblem. The matte opening is in the shape of a Mercury capsule. We did this one as a proof-of-concept, before adding the retro-pack cutout and NASA Meatball patch.

ARCHIVALLY FRAMED
Background is red suede, inner mat is silver, outer mat is dark blue suede.
Frame is anodized frosted silver aluminum.
UV-blocking, non-glare plexiglas.
