From NASA Apollo-Soyuz Russian Language instructor-interpreter Anatole Forostenko’s personal collection.
8.5″x11.25″ U.S. Postal Service commemorative panel with mint block of four Skylab stamps, a salute by Frank Borman, and illustrations, in original shrink-wrap with backing; 4.4″x8.5″, 107-page Philco-Ford booklet of acronyms used in spacecraft communication, signed by Forostenko and inscribed with story of Tom Stafford giving it to him prior to an Apollo-Soyuz Training press conference; postal cover with photo cachet of Forostenko (center) interpreting for Apollo-Soyuz spacemen, signed by him, affixed with 10-cent Skylab stamp, Feb 11, 1975, Houston, TX.
Dr. Forostenko led a Russian language team at NASA’s Astronaut Office to prepare astronauts to communicate with cosmonauts during Apollo-Soyuz, working closely with both crews as instructor-interpreter.
