From NASA Apollo-Soyuz Russian Language instructor-interpreter Anatole Forostenko’s personal collection.

These two relatively rare Fleetwood 7.7″x6″ Year of the Hindenburg collectors cards, issued by American Stamp Dealers Association for the 1977 National Postage Stamp Show, were available only to attendees of the show. Both feature images of German and Liechtenstein stamps showing the Hindenburg. One also has a 13-cent 50th Anniversary Solo Transatlantic Flight stamp, postmarked with special 40th Anniversary Hindenburg Disaster/National Postage Stamp Show/Deutsche Luftpost cancelation, Nov 20, 1977, New York, NY. Each comes in matching National 77 envelope with Hindenburg graphic.

Dr. Forostenko led a Russian language team at NASA’s Astronaut Office to prepare astronauts to communicate with cosmonauts during Apollo-Soyuz, working closely with both crews as instructor-interpreter.
