On the return trip to Earth, Apollo 13 used its Lunar Module (LM) Aquarius as a lifeboat, seen here from the Command Module (CM) Odyssey after being jettisoned to burn up in the atmosphere during reentry. The LM was designed to support two crew members for several hours during the lunar landing and return to lunar orbit, but ended up keeping all three crew members alive for several days.
Apollo 13’s mission commander (CDR) Jim Lovell and lunar module pilot (LMP) Fred Haise sign in silver.
COA included.
Framed with a 3″ embroidered mission patch.
