Gemini 7 is seen from the side from Gemini 6, flying “effortlessly” in close perpendicular formation during the world’s first orbital rendezvous in 1965. They maneuvered within inches of each other. Gemini 6 returned to Earth soon after, while Gemini 7 stayed aloft for a two week endurance test. Gemini 6 commander Wally Schirra and Gemini 7 commander Frank Borman sign in silver.
