Too Beautiful to Have Happened by Accident
Ron Evans' (Apollo 17 Command Module Pilot) "Too Beautiful to Have Happened By Accident", Alan Bean's very first print. We haven't seen one of these in years, though we sold most of them, they sold out 14 years ago. They don't even come up for resale. This was published in the early 1980s by Meredith Long Gallery in Houston. The idea comes from Gene Cernan's remark while gazing at the Earth from the moon on Apollo 17. Alan has inscribed (in pencil) beneath Cernan's arm: "To Ron- without you this painting would not have been possible...thanks! I've enjoyed working with you and wish we could have flown together." (you have to get right up to it to see it.)This print is Artist Proof 18/30. The regular edition was 600, signed and numbered. Large-the frame makes it 30" x39." Framed in black/metallic gold acid-free mat, a 1" gold anodized aluminum frame, and elegant non-glare UV plexiglas. Size is 30x39 inches. Price: $1650 SOLD Call 1-800-727-NOVA
